Kayaking & Canoeing
Just 10 minutes down the road from the local village, there is a facility to rent kayaks and canoes. The more active and adventurous can paddle downstream towards Coimbra (roughly 3 hours away) and arrange to be picked up and returned to avoid the troublesome 'uphill' part of the journey! Alternately, some three quarters of a kilometre upstream are some wonderful waterfalls set deep in a wooded valley, impossible to reach by road vehicles and as a result, rarely visited.
